Class of 2024 Senior Year Information:

We have many special events and activities planned to celebrate the Class of 2024! To make that happen, we need your support. See Below for MANY Details.

PLEASE CONSIDER:

  • Each year the Parent Association asks for a SENIOR YEAR DONATION in the amount of $125 to cover the expenses of Project Graduation, senior perks throughout the year and senior yard signs. If you have the means to donate more than the suggested amount, it will certainly be welcome. Please know that EVERY DOLLAR collected will be used for our seniors. Your tax-deductible donation is so important in helping us make this year the best it can be for the Class of 2024! All of these activities are explained below.
  • PLEASE NOTE!!! This is different than the $100 Senior Graduation Fee that the School collects. (That fee is for your cap & gown, diploma, tassel, Senior shirt, etc.) This fee can be paid HERE

PROJECT GRADUATION:

  • This is an all-night drug and alcohol-free celebration held at FHS the night of graduation exclusively for FHS graduates. This is PG’s 22nd year and FHS is the only high school in the county with an event like this. PG traditionally has a 90% attendance rate and is made possible by the fundraising efforts of our Class over the past 4 years. It is most graduates FAVORITE night of the year. Students are met by a red carpet entrance at 10:30 pm and games and activities are set up all over the school. They enjoy a DJ, casino games, chair massages, bingo, dodgeball, inflatables and so much more. Cash and prize giveaways, along with free food and a coffee bar all night long round out the evening which usually ends at 6 am the next morning. Prizes include Macbooks, Yetis, iPads, gift cards and tickets to lots of fun places. In fact EVERY student will leave with a cash gift!

SENIOR YEAR DONATION:

  • This fee is paid to the Parent Association and is collected for special senior events and recognition such as Project Graduation, Senior Perks throughout the year, Senior shirts, Yard Signs, etc. You can pay these online HERE or by filling out the paper version of the Senior Response Form by clicking HERE and mailing it along with a check to the address on the form. To check to see if you have paid please email FranklinHighClassof2024@gmail.com. Your donations are tax deductible and are crucial to helping make your child’s senior year a year to remember!!! If you are able to donate over and above the suggested donation we will put your money to good use while honoring our seniors!!!

SENIOR PORTRAITS:

  • Prestige is the photography company that handles the FHS senior portraits for the yearbook photos. In order for your student’s senior picture to be in the FHS yearbook, you must have pictures taken by Prestige Portraits. If you have not received information from Prestige, email them at lifetouchnashville@lifetouch.com or schedule online at prestigeportraits.com. Information about Prestige and senior portraits was sent out from Mr. Ruck in the spring. YOU WILL ONLY HAVE YOUR PICTURE IN THE YEARBOOK IF IT IS TAKEN BY PRESTIGE so schedule your sitting ASAP.

YEARBOOK AD:

  • Senior families may purchase an ad honoring their student. These ads are collected by Katherine Brannon (YB Teacher) and the Yearbook Staff. They are placed in the back of the yearbook and cost varies with size. You can look at previous yearbooks to get ideas. Information about the yearbook ad is enclosed or can also be found at fhsparents.org. Ad responses are due November 10, 2023.

SPECIAL SENIOR DAYS:

  • During the Fall PSAT/ACT and the Spring Test Dates, seniors can choose between Shadowing a Career, a College Visit, volunteering somewhere or working on Credit Recovery. A google form will be sent out from the Counseling office beforehand to complete your decision. These dates will be announced by the school as soon as the County releases them.

GRADUATION FEE ($100):

  • This fee is different than the Senior Year Donation above and is paid directly to the school for cap, gown, tassel, diploma cover, one final transcript and other costs associated with graduation. This year’s fee is $100. Payment is made directly to FHS by check or online at www.schoolcashonline.com. This fee will start being collected on July 30th and can be paid through the first semester. To see if you have paid, you can check your history on your School Cash Online account or contact the FHS Bookkeeper (Tammy Adams) if you have any questions.

CAP, GOWN & TASSEL:

  • Mr. Ruck will communicate with seniors later in the fall to give instructions on submitting measurements for the cap & gown. School staff will place the order with Herff Jones and the cost is covered by the Graduation Fee paid to the school. Students will receive their Cap, Gown & Tassel in the spring.

FINAL EXAMS & EXEMPTION POLICY:

  • Seniors are exempt from semester and final exams in a subject if they: have maintained an A average in that subject, have NO unexcused absences, and have not been suspended (including ISS) during the semester. If your student has an A in a class (90 or greater) and has had no more than 8 excused absences, they are exempt from that class’s final exam. Students must still take AP/IB Exams. Field trips and college visits with principal approval and a letter from the college received on the day of the visit will not count as one of the 8 absences.

SENIOR YARD SIGNS:

  • These signs are placed by parent volunteers in a graduate’s yard in the weeks leading up to graduation. A senior response form must be completed and returned to the FHS Parent Association in order for a student to receive a sign. The form is enclosed and can either be mailed into the address on the form or can be completed online at www.fhsparents.org. We want to make sure we get everyone’s name correct on their sign so please print legibly and turn in ASAP so you don’t forget!
